CHITAMBO GETS IT’S FIRST-EVER STREET LIGHTS

History is being made in Chitambo District as installation of the first-ever street lights officially begins a major step in transforming our once-rural district into a safer, more vibrant, and economically active community.

Thanks to the visionary leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema, and his commitment to ensuring that toll fees and national resources are shared equitably across all districts, Chitambo is now benefiting from development initiatives that were once only a dream. This policy direction has opened doors for districts like ours to flourish and take charge of their own transformation.

Building on this national vision, Management led by Mr. Mudala resolved to channel part of these funds into installing street lights to:

. Improve security at night

. Reduce risks of attacks around the market area

.  Promote night trading and boost local economic activity

.  Change the face of Chitambo, especially around the growing CBD

This project was fully supported and approved by the Council through a resolution presided over by His Worship, Mr. Brian Mwelwa, demonstrating strong local leadership aligned with national development priorities.
