CHITAMBO CELEBRATES NEW DEVELOPMENTS AS GOVERNMENT UNVEILS CDF EQUIPMENT AND FUNDING

CDF has continued to change lives in Chitambo district, Today in Chitambo District,at the old Civic Center Permanent Secretary Dr. Milner Mwanakampwe celebrated progress under the New Dawn Administration, led by President Hakainde Hichilema. The event highlighted the commissioning of three new earth-moving machines and the distribution of grants and loans aimed at improving local lives.

Dr. Mwanakampwe emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing health, education and infrastructure, noting over K98 million invested in Chitambo in under four years. Key achievements included:

– 59 community projects worth over K62 million.
– 241 grants totaling K8.7 million.
– 56 loans amounting to K8.2 million.
– Sponsorship for 1,181 students in skills development.

The new machinery, valued at K5.3 million,aims to improve road maintenance. He urged the community to protect these resources as they belong to them. Dr. Mwanakampwe also presented a cheque to 20 amounting to K3,146,000 million loan recipients, emphasizing responsible fund management.

He encouraged ongoing community support for future projects, particularly in maternal health and called for unity among Zambians to foster a brighter future, concluding with an inspiring message: β€œTogether, we can achieve great things.”

The Council Chairperson Mr Brian Mwelwa, District Commissioner Mr Topson Pathias Kunda, Provincial Local Government Officer, CDFC Chairperson Mr Chesha Kunda spoke during the event. It was attended by The Council Secretary Mr Mwiche I Mudala and Senior Provincial and DistrictΒ officials.
