CDF PROJECTS COMMISSIONED IN CHITAMBO.

Four community projects funded by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), totaling K2,235,850.16, have been commissioned in Chitambo District. Alongside ,16 local businesses received funding from K2,600,000 allocated for the 2024 CDF loans.
Provincial Local Government Officer Mr. Clint Susiku, representing Central Province Permanent Secretary Dr. Milner Mwanakampwe,highlighted the projects’ alignment with President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision to improve the lives of Zambians. The commissioned projects include:
A new classroom block at Mwansa Mpango Primary School in Katonga
Enhanced facilities at Kafinda Health Post, including a water system and toilets
Upgraded sanitation infrastructure at Chalilo Market
“We are committed to ensuring public money is used wisely,” Mr. Susuki stated. “If it requires daily visits to Chitambo to launch projects, we will do it.”
He encouraged ongoing support for the New Dawn Government, emphasizing a shared mission of progress and prosperity for Chitambo.
The event also featured the handover of CDF loan cheques to 16 local businesses, aimed at stimulating economic growth and job creation. The government allocates K36.1 million annually to each constituency for such initiatives.
Mr. Susiku reaffirmed the New Dawn Administration’s dedication to providing essential services, particularly in rural areas, and mentioned efforts to assist communities facing drought challenges, including cash for work and social cash transfer programs.
District Commissioner Mr. Topson Kunda called on the community to maintain and protect the new facilities, while Council Chairperson Mr. Brian Mwelwa expressed gratitude for the government’s focus on Chitambo’s needs.
The event was attended by Chitambo Town Council Secretary Mr. Mwiche I Mudala, heads of government departments, councillors, The CDF members and numerous excited community members among others.
