Chitambo District has long faced significant challenges with its road network infrastructure, but that narrative is changing.
The local authority, utilizing the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), has initiated road improvement efforts across the district. So far, over 30 kilometers of roads have been completed.
The local authority aims to work on more than 50 kilometers of roads before the peak of the rainy season, prioritizing critical routes leading to health posts and schools.
Thanks to His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema and the New Dawn administration for increasing CDF, recently, the local authority procured a motor grader and a tipper truck through the 2023 CDF disbursement, totaling K4,335,750, this acquisition has made road grading and maintenance more efficient and cost-effective.
The local authority also hopes to acquire additional machinery, including a water buzzer and a compactor, by next year.
