CHITAMBO’S CASH-FOR-WORK PROGRAM IMPRESSES CENTRAL PROVINCE PS

Central Province Permanent Secretary Mr. Milner Mwanakampwe monitored the implementation of the cash-for-work program in Chitambo District on December 27, 2024.

Accompanied by provincial and local leaders, the Permanent Secretary toured various projects completed through the program, including the repair of impassable roads and embarkment on water logged roads.

He expressed satisfaction with the program’s implementation but urged the local authority to install culverts on the roads being worked on to ensure their longevity. He emphasized that the program is vital as it supports a community affected by drought while simultaneously providing essential services.

The cash-for-work initiative reflects the commitment of His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema that no one will suffer from hunger due to drought.

Mr. Mwanakampwe was accompanied by officials from the Provincial Local Government Office, including Mr. Clint Susiku, Chitambo Council Chairperson Mr. Brian Mwelwa, Chitambo District Commissioner Mr. Topson Kunda and other senior provincial and district officials.
