Chitambo Town Council, on Wednesday did present its budget estimates for 2025 during the National Budget hearing in Mpika.
The proposed budget totals Eighty-Three Million, Seventy-Seven Thousand and Fourteen Kwacha (K83,077,014.00).
A significant portion of this budget, K36.1 million, will be allocated to the Constituency Development Programme. This funding will support initiatives such as the Cash for Work program, aimed at creating more job opportunities for local residents.
Acting Council Secretary Mr. Charles Bupe emphasized that the 2025 budget focuses on improving infrastructure, community services, education and local governance.
The National Budget Hearing was supported by the USAID Local Impact Governance Project and the Ministry of Finance, promoting participatory planning and accountability while aligning with national development objectives.
This initiative marks a significant step toward sustainable development and aims to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Chitambo.
