A total of K468,000 will be allocated to pay cash-for-work beneficiaries in Chitambo district for the month of September.
The local authority, in collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Ward Development Committees (WDCs), has been actively implementing the program across all wards in the district. Strict supervision from the local authority is in place to ensure that all participants are treated fairly throughout the program.
The government’s objective is to empower citizens, particularly families most affected by drought, to supplement existing measures like increased access to social cash transfers.
The program is set to run for the next six months on a rotational basis, with over 4,000 residents expected to benefit.
