On Wednesday 15th November 2023, local contractors in Chitambo District received training on the electronic government procurement (e-GP) system at Kings Habour lodge.
The training was organized by the USAID Local Impact Governance Project in Partnership with the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), the Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) and Department of Housing and Infrastructure development (DHID).
The purpose of this training was to equip local contractors with the necessary Knowledge and Skills to effectively participate in the procurement process. This includes understanding how to bid for Contracts and Capital projects that are funded by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The training was aimed to enhance transparency and accountability in Public projects, leading to economic development, quality projects works implementations and good governance.
The ultimate goal of this initiative is to benefit the communities in Chitambo district and foster sustainable economic growth. The e- GP Platform serves as a valuable tool for the procurement of works, service and supplies.
