CHITAMBO YOUTH AND WOMEN EMPOWEREMENT INITIATIVE BRINGS HOPE

The atmosphere was filled with jubilation as the youth and women of Chitambo experienced a life-changing moment. The District Leadership, in a gesture of support and empowerment, presented substantial grants and loans to deserving individuals on Friday, November 24th.

A total of 75 grant recipients and 16 loan applicants were selected and awarded separate cheques during the event. The grants amounted to an impressive K3, 135,000M, while the loans totalled K2, 588,456.50M.

The District Commissioner, Mr. Evans Chola, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. He took the opportunity to express his appreciation to His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema for implementing policies that are now yielding tangible benefits for the people of Chitambo.

Mr. Chola urged the beneficiaries to utilize the resources provided by their caring government for their intended purposes. Additionally, he encouraged the people of Chitambo to remain united and work collaboratively with the government, as more development initiatives are on the horizon.

Council Chairperson, Mr. Brian Mwelwa, emphasized the positive impact of the Chitambo Development Fund (CDF) empowerment program. He assured the community that the local authority would ensure unbiased distribution, as the CDF funds are intended to uplift the lives of all Zambians, without discrimination.

The recipients of the grants and loans expressed their heartfelt gratitude upon receiving the cheques. They pledged to utilize the funds for their intended purposes and acknowledged President Hakainde Hichilema’s government for providing them with this much-needed support.

The handover ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including the Council Secretary, Mr. Mwiche I Mudala and Several senior Government and security officials were also present, further highlighting the significance of this empowering event.
